Baraa Saddiq

As a court transcriber during his early years, Baraa acquired the unique opportunity to participate in, contribute to and observe the legal justice system, first-hand.

He then volunteered at the Aboriginal Legal Service where he served and assisted those of socially and economically disadvantaged backgrounds in criminal matters.

Continuing to pursue his passion in criminal law and justice, Baraa’s highest attributes were crystallised under the direct guidance of a prominent senior advocate and former police prosecutor and detective.  He has since undertaken work in notable criminal cases at all levels – the Local Court, District Court, Supreme Court, Court of Criminal Appeal and the High Court of Australia.

Baraa is also experienced in family law, representing clients in:

  • Consent parenting orders,
  • Contested children matters,
  • Complex relocation and recovery matters (involving child abuse and domestic violence),
  • Financial agreements, and
  • Complex property proceedings with large matrimonial asset pools (involving business, family trusts, corporate structures, self-managed superannuation funds, and discovery of undisclosed/international assets).

What distinguishes Baraa as a lawyer and offers an advantage to his clients – is his broad knowledge in criminal law allowing him to navigate complex matters involving Family Violence, Apprehended Domestic Violence proceedings, and other Police related matters.

Baraa is always striving to serve his clients’ best interests. He is known for being caring and empathetic to his clients’ needs, whilst fearless and tenacious in defending their legal rights.  He is often able to achieve negotiated settlements, leading to swift and cost-effective resolutions that avoid the need for court litigation.
